Megan Moreno, MD, MSEd, MPH

Dr. Megan Moreno is an adolescent medicine doctor and interim chair in the University of Wisconsin Department of Pediatrics. Her research focuses on understanding the benefits and risks of social media use among teens. Dr. Moreno was drawn to this research in 2008 when her patients shared social media experiences during their clinic visits and she wanted to understand more. Dr. Moreno’s favorite aspect of social media is any platform that has funny cat videos.

Ellen Selkie, MD, MPH

Dr. Ellen Selkie is the principal investigator at the LMFAO lab and an adolescent medicine specialist at UW Health Kids. She is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Council on Communications and Media at the American Academy of Pediatrics. As a pediatrician, Dr. Selkie is passionate about caring for gender and sexual minority youth as well as justice-involved youth. This work inspires and informs her research goal of promoting positive socioemotional development through improving online experiences for young people.

Chris Cascio, PhD
He, him, his
Dr. Chris Cascio is an assistant professor in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research uses tools from communication studies and social neuroscience to understand when and how persuasion works. Specifically, his research focuses on neurocognitive mechanisms associated with social influence and persuasive messages delivered through mass media and interpersonal communication in order to better understand subsequent behavior. Dr. Cascio loves surfing and recently got to take his 3-year-old daughter Juniper surfing for the first time with him in Hawaii.
